SOSS Outreach Ministry

SOSS logo Mission Statement

It is the goal of Seabrook United Methodist Church and this ministry to provide short-term financial assistance (rent, utilities, groceries, etc.) to residents of this community when the unexpected happens. We also provide resources for additional assistance.

And our greatest goal is to provide a beacon of hope.

"I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." —John 8:12

Food Pantry Needs
(Our pantry is running low on nearly every item. We need your help to restock our shelves to make it through the holidays. Please see the list below for needed items.)

Bag of Grace logo When you stop at a red light, how many times have you been asked for money?  We are all called to be of service to God’s people.  How do we find the time to serve others when our days are so busy and we seem to have less time rather than more?  SOSS has one small way we all can be of service to those in need.  We have prepared our Bags of Grace and they are now available for you to pick up. Each bag is filled with a bottled water, a can of Vienna Sausage, a cup of fruit, 3 packages of peanut butter crackers, 1 fruit bar, a bottle of hand sanitizer, plastic ware, a wash cloth and a devotional. Take a bag, place it in your car and keep it on hand to share when the opportunity arises. This is an opportunity to offer God’s grace – simply and compassionately. Our goal is to offer these bags year-round. Won’t you prayerfully consider taking a bag to share? Thank you for sharing your gifts with others. Hugs, Julie

But how do you ask someone if they would like one of our “Bags of Grace”?
You can say, “I have no money to offer but I have a small bag of food to offer. Would you like one?
If they say yes, we can simply say “You are very welcome.” or “I am honored.” or “Bless you.
If they say no, we can simply say “Take care and may God bless you.
