10:00 Sunday Morning Classes

Adult Bible Studies

My name is Bill Stites and I want to tell you about our Adult Bible Study class beginning on August 1.This class will meet in church on Sunday at 10 AM, between worship services. The purpose of this class is to engage in discussions about the word of God as recorded in the scripture. We discuss freely, without criticism. We talk about how the Bible can apply to our everyday lives. Each of us has experiences that will teach something new to someone else in the class. I invite you to come to share as well as learn. This is the in-person version of our popular Online Bible Study with Bill which will also continue to be offered virtually.

The Seekers Sunday School class will be starting up again Sunday, August 1 at 10:00 AM. We will be meeting in classroom 5-A. Young adults and young families are welcome! If you are new to Sunday School, this may be the place for you. No homework required! Check out our promo video coming up this week. Our own Jeremy Somerson and Emma Holliday will be leading the class.

Why is it that two of the most beloved and significant books of the Bible, if not in our history, open with the words “In the beginning”? This theme of Creation occurs throughout the Old and the New Testament, as do themes such as Covenant, Power, Freedom, Sacrifice and Atonement, and, of course, Hope and Love. It may be comforting and gratifying to reflect on how we feel about these things, but let’s take a look at what our Scriptures and some of our great thinkers have to say about them. Our “Genesis” Bible Study Class will be an open-minded, discussion-based guided journey through the beautiful and often challenging prose and poetry of Scripture. We will follow along as the Bible leads us from the Creation to a new Creation - from birth to a new birth.

Faith in Action: Evening Fellowship

United Methodist Women is a fellowship group whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

We run a small library and we usually meet once a month. Right now we often meet on Zoom. Contact info@seabrookumc.org for more information!

New Freedom Class

The New Freedom Group was formed as a safe and healing space for those who wish to free themselves from the bondage of addictions, compulsions, hurts, and habits.

We exist to journey together toward healing and newfound freedom through Jesus Christ. We will learn to allow God to do for us which we cannot do for ourselves. Our goal is to find a new freedom and a new happiness.

We will use the greatest book on recovery ever written- the Bible. In this group, our tool will be The Life Recovery Bible, an edition of the Holy Bible that incorporates the Twelve Steps of recovery.

All are welcome, and anonymity will be honored.

New Freedom will meet on Sunday evenings from 6 pm to 7 pm. In room 5-B.
